It was interesting today to hear so many people say they can’t believe November is here already. Well, not only is it here but it will start feeling more like early November over this forecast period. The trend will be for cooler air to spill into southern New England through the weekend and becoming quite chilly early next week. Most of this forecast period calls for dry weather, but there is a slight chance of a few light showers along and close to the eastern Massachusetts coast Friday.
Sandy’s remnants will be out of our lives soon. A brisk northwesterly airflow will follow as the remnant system slides into the Canadian Maritimes. Although we can still expect periods where there are quite a few clouds we certainly will have periods of sunshine, with Sunday looking to be the sunnier of the two weekend days. High pressure builds in by late in the weekend and early next week, bringing fair skies and a reinforcing shot of chilly air. Meanwhile, low pressure will be positioned in the Mid-Atlantic States early in the week and may have its sights on tracking up the coast to arrive here by Wednesday. With the chilly air in place and precipitation riding up the coast things could get interesting here late Tuesday night and Wednesday, especially for inland areas.
Focusing on the temperatures through this timeframe there is little doubt they will get progressively cooler, with the coolest period later Sunday into Tuesday. Unseasonably chilly air will prevail late weekend and early next week.
We change back to Standard Time Saturday night, actually at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, thus picking up one hour of sleep. However, the days become even shorter with this change as the sun will set an hour earlier. It is now November, it will start to feel like it at times over the next several days, the days are getting even shorter and who knows some spots may see a few flakes come mid week. Can winter be very far away?
