As the Blizzard of 2012 hit Indiana Wednesday, Dec. 26, many companies are closed for the safety of employees and customers. Most counties are in Level Orange travel restrictions. Only travel in an emergency.
The blizzard has pushed Indianapolis to suspend trash pickup today and Thursday, complicated an already-delayed holiday trash schedule.
While the delay won’t affect some Indy residents, others will have to wait up to an extra eight days before the trash trucks pay a visit, for a double pick-up next week.
Conner Prairie, north of Indianpolis in Fishers, is closed. Plans for its event for students on holiday break have been pushed to Thursday.
The opening day of the Indianapolis Auto Show has been canceled.
Conseco services are closed.
American Red Cross Blood Donor Centers: Closing Early; California Road Center Closing at 4pm; Lutheran Hospital Center Closing at 4pm
Edinburgh Outlet Mall, south of Indianapolis, is closed today.
Eiteljorg Museum in Downtown Indianapolis, is closed.
Indiana Live!, Shelbyville: Casino closed, track open.
Hoosier Park in Anderson: casino open, the track is closed.
Indianapolis Children’s Museum is closed today for the safety of employees and families.
City of Indianapolis government offices will be closed Wednesday. for all non-essential personnel, Mayor Greg Ballard said.
Johnson County government offices with the exception of essential services will be closed Wednesday.
Zionsville town offices are closed.
Town of Speedway offices will be closed Wednesday with the exception of essential personnel. Town Hall and all administrative offices will be closed. The Speedway Town Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday is postponed until 7 p.m. Thursday at Speedway Town Hall.
Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation Extended School Enrichment will be closed Wednesday.
Clay County government offices are closed.
Putnam County offices are closed.
Fishers town administrative offices are closed. Essential personnel, including public safety and public works employees, are on duty.
Hamilton County government offices are closed. Essential personnel are on duty.
Noblesville government offices are closed. Essential personnel are on duty.
Boone County Courthouse and government offices are closed.
Most public libraries are closed, including Marion, Perry, Hendricks, Pike, Hancock, Hamilton, Johnson, Anderson, Clay, Putnam, Owen, and others.
