Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois (ARF-IL), is a local Wheaton, Illinois foster-based rescue organization. This year alone they have found almost 600 dogs and cats their new forever homes. Many of these animals came from situations that would bring nightmares to the heartiest of individuals.
ARF-IL smartly partnered with the Spotted Paw Shop, owned and operated by Michael and Cris Zloza. The young couple has since fostered hundreds of dogs and cats for ARF and has shared in the caring by donating free grooming, food and supplies to their rescued animals. That was one brilliant partnership indeed!
Besides Spotted Paw, ARF also has built a local partnership with The Barking Lot and works hand-in-hand with PetSmart where many of their cats and kittens are able to reside. Each partner adds to the benefits that ARF provides not only to the animals but to the community at large.
Being a very special 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois was able to work as a cohesive unit with Pilots-N-Paws; a national organization that donates air transport to animals in need across the entire United States.
So that some very loving and deserving animals did not lose their lives needlessly just because a holiday was approaching, ARF reached out through all of its online faculties to see if fosters were able to take in just one more dog from the DuPage Animal Care and Control right before Christmas Eve. To buy a bit more time, some very dedicated ARF cat volunteers offered to house and feed the cats and kittens left in government care so that their lives would be spared until which time permanent foster care could be obtained for them.
That is what ARF is all about. They do not turn away the animals that many would consider the ‘unadoptables.’ They take in the old, the sick, the lame, the blind, the deaf and what may be called the ugly – these animals are many times the result of some very horrible human beings! All-in-all some very devoted individuals are working toward the good of the animals in need; not only in and around Wheaton, Illinois, but throughout the entire state and local states as well.
Being able to write about a loving and caring organization of wonderful volunteers has been a privilege over the past year and will continue to be a privilege for the years to come. The animals that have been rescued are all very fortunate that they had someone in their corner. The partners have added to ARF’s success and vice-versa. It is great to be able to have such a great animal rescue organization right in Wheaton, Illinois. Way to go Animal Rescue Foundation, Illinois!
