Actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested for brawling at a Manhattan club in the wee hours of Thursday morning.Whatever she does, she is likely to make immediate gossip and tabloid headlines while her Father, Michael Lohan weighs in for attention and publicity. She is already having a year of lows and lower lows, with some trips toward medium.
The Mercury News reports that the latest dustup happened at around 4 a.m. when Ms. Lohan and another woman got into an altercation inside the Avenue club. The altercation became physical when Ms. Lohan allegedly slapped or punched the woman several times in the face. The police determined that Ms. Lohan committed third degree misdemeanor assault and arrested her outside of the club.
According to the Toronto Sun, a NY police sergeant said that the other woman suffered very minor injuries. Ms. Lohan refused medical treatment before police took her to jail. Authorities released her four hours later and was photographed exiting the jail with her coat over her head. She was with a driver and an unidentified man when she drove off in a black SUV.
This means that Ms. Lohan must show up in a NY court to face the charges, a task that piles onto another court appearance for leaving the scene of an accident. In September, a man accused her of hitting him with her Porsche in Manhattan. That court date was changed and there is no news about a rescheduling.
September was a busy month for Ms Lohan, who scuffled with a man over photos at a New York hotel. She demanded that he delete cell phone photos she accused him of taking.
In October, police came to the home of Ms. Lohan’s mother, Dina Lohan. A loud argument occurred, but no one was arrested during that incident.
Ms. Lohan has only one, practically useless probation program for taking a necklace from a jewelry store without permission last year.
Despite her self-inflicted troubles, Ms. Lohan is one of the hardest working women in show business. She was panned by the critics for her portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in “Liz & Dick”, a Lifetime television broadcast. She is also working on an independent film, “The Canyons” which was written by author Bret Easton Ellis of “American Psycho” fame.
With a persistence that is difficult to explain, Lohan’s father wasted little time in posting on Twitter. He quickly deleted his post, which appears to be more of an attempt to exploit a dig at Dina Lohan, according to Perez Hilton.
“I have been trying for years and especially over the past two weeks but my pleas have gone unheard Children need BOTH PARENTS, not alienation. Do you see what I mean when our children don’t have BOTH parents there for them and on the same page! I have tried and tried but takes two! This is for ALL parents who go or went thru the same! Please don’t make the mistakes!”
Whatever the situation is with Mr. Lohan, more headlines like “Actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested for brawling at a Manhattan club” are not the solution.
