It’s 11 days now and counting that folks have been freezing, unable to cook in their homes and plunged into looting threats and the pitch black darkness of having no power. It’s no wonder they don’t want to leave their destroyed homes with drywall drenched in mold and seawater. They have so little left…
Ya’ll know where this is happening, and why the deaths have gained so much attention – AMERICA, we need your help. In Charlotte many have realized just because electricity may finally be restored on Sunday to most, the long hard road of destruction begins now. My friend, Patrick over at Buzz60 is going to outline the filth, ruination and calamity a bit more for us today in the video report enclosed.
Here is how you can help locally, in the 16 county Charlotte Metrolina Region.
Everyone is truly saddened by the events that have taken a HUGE toll on the Northeast after Sandy weaved her destructive path. There is an excellent relief effort going on. There are confirmed trucks driving several times per week by retired FDNY and NYPD officers filled with your relief supplies. We need MORE supplies, safe food items and drink packs!!! These trucks are leaving every couple of days, one left Thursday morning and contained 2,000 loaves of bread. Please take a look at what you can do to help.
Sort men’s clothing, women’s clothing and children’s and pet items.
They also request cleaning products and cleaning supplies to fight mold and drenched walls, WD-40 and peanut butter. Please feel free to take photos of donations for this page and paste them on the Charlotte Examiner via Facebook and share this invite!

No one in this group is looking for nor accepting cash or financial donations. Thank you, but these are rejected and can be done through the American Red Cross. We hope that you will join us to send another truck off soon and film the departure with the Chefs from the Presidential Culinary Museum.
Thank you for all of your support, Chef Marti
Chef Marti Mongiello is listed in the top 50 writers in the United States for the Examiner system of newspapers and top 100 most visited websites of America with over 51 million page views per month and 92,000 Facebook fans. We probably sound like a broken record with Chef Marti at the Examiner, but October was another record-setting month! We ended up a fraction under 120 million page views for the month – a significant accomplishment. That put us ahead of sites for The New York Times, Yelp, IMDB and the Drudge Report according to Quantcast.com. Additionally, we set a single day record of nearly 5.5 million page views on Oct. 29.
